Let’s be honest: most of us spend so much time trying to avoid discomfort. But the tricky part? A lot of those avoidance habits happen without us even realizing it.

Here are 3 subtle ways you might be avoiding discomfort:
🔄 Mindless scrolling – numbing out instead of facing what’s really bothering you.
📅 Over-scheduling yourself – keeping busy so you don’t have to feel what’s underneath.
🤝 People-pleasing – saying “yes” to avoid the discomfort of setting boundaries.

Sound familiar? You’re not alone. But here’s the thing: discomfort isn’t here to punish you. It’s here to teach you.

When you embrace discomfort, here’s what can begin to shift:
💪 You become more resilient – discomfort strengthens you, not breaks you.
🔍 You gain clarity – sitting with discomfort helps you uncover what you truly want.
🚀 You grow exponentially – leaning into the hard stuff is where real transformation happens.

“We cannot become what we want by remaining what we are.” – Max DePree

Discomfort is where your biggest breakthroughs are waiting. It’s not about pushing through recklessly – it’s about learning to meet it with curiosity, one step (or breath) at a time.

💬 Ready to practice leaning into discomfort? Comment ‘DAILY’ below, and I’ll send you a FREE 15-minute daily breathwork practice to guide you, one breath at a time.

Feeling constantly overwhelmed or on edge?

Your nervous system might be signaling it’s time for a reset. Here are 3 practical signs that your body needs support:

1️⃣ You feel easily irritated or overwhelmed – even minor inconveniences set you off.
2️⃣ You’re exhausted but can’t relax – you’re always “on,” even when you’re trying to rest.
3️⃣ Your mind won’t stop racing – whether it’s to-do lists, worries, or overthinking, it feels impossible to unwind.

Sound familiar? These are all signs that your nervous system is stuck in overdrive. The good news? There are simple ways to start recalibrating.

Here are 3 tools to begin listening to your body and resetting your system:

✔️ Controlled breathing – Try slow, deep breaths, focusing on a long exhale. This signals safety to your body.
✔️ Move intentionally – Stretch, walk, or do light exercise to release built-up tension.
✔️ Disconnect from stressors – Put down your phone, step away from work, and spend a few moments in stillness.

When you take small, intentional steps, you can create a profound impact on your overall well-being. Your body is asking for your attention – it’s time to listen.

💬 Does this resonate? Comment “DAILY” below for a FREE 15-minute breathwork practice to help you gain clarity on your nervous system and what your body truly needs.

🌪️ Sometimes, growth gets worse before it gets better.

I’ve been there—feeling like things are falling apart right when I’m trying to move forward. But I’m here to tell you: That’s okay. In fact, it’s often a sign that real transformation is happening. ✨

I used to be trapped in anxiety, stuck in fight or flight, and completely disconnected from myself. My mind raced, my body was tense, and I felt like I was carrying a weight I couldn’t shake off. 😰

But here’s the thing: I had to lean into that discomfort—into the resistance and pain—before I could clear it all out. It didn’t feel good. In fact, it felt worse for a while. But it was the only way to move forward. 🌱

What I've learned from my journey in breathwork—and watching hundreds of people undergo their own transformations—is this:

🌟 Your potential is already inside of you. It’s just been buried under old baggage, unprocessed emotions, and the false stories you’ve been told about who you are and what you’re capable of.

And here’s a secret: It’s okay to be uncomfortable. 🙃 It’s okay to not feel “good” all the time. Growth doesn’t always look like a smooth, easy ride—sometimes it’s messy, and sometimes it feels like things are getting worse before they get better. But that’s all part of the process. 💥

Breathwork can guide you through that discomfort, if you’re willing to release control and trust the intelligence of your own body. 🌬️ Your body knows exactly where you need to go—even if the road isn’t clear right away.

If you're ready to let go of the old stories and start your own transformation, know this: the hardest part is just the beginning. Your breakthrough is waiting on the other side. 💫

Every emotion is connected to your breath.
Think about it—when you’re stressed, what happens to your breath? It gets shallow, rapid, and more irregular. When you’re excited, your breath quickens, and you might even find yourself holding your breath in anticipation. When you’re scared, your breath becomes tight, and you might feel like you can’t catch it.

Your breath is always with you, responding to every shift in emotion, every experience, every moment. It’s the one constant from the moment you’re born until the moment you die. And while it can be influenced by what’s happening around you, it’s also something you have control over.

Here’s the powerful truth: If you can learn to navigate your breath, you can learn to navigate any situation.

When you feel anxious or overwhelmed, a few deep, intentional breaths can shift your entire state of being. When you’re excited or joyful, paying attention to your breath helps you stay present and fully enjoy the moment. When you’re scared, grounding yourself with slow, steady breaths helps reset your nervous system and bring you back to safety.

Breath is the bridge between your body and mind. It’s an immediate and powerful tool to bring you back into balance, no matter what’s going on around you. You don’t have to wait for the world to change—your breath can change everything.

Next time life feels overwhelming, just pause and check in with your breath. Breathe deeply, slowly, and consciously. You’ll be amazed at how quickly you can reset and shift your energy. Because when you master your breath, you master your response to life.

💫 Your breath is your superpower. Start using it to your advantage. 💫

For many, this is the hardest part of any breathwork session—releasing the harsh inner critic that says, “This feels weird,” or “I look silly,” or “I’m not doing it right.” But what if, instead of pushing through that discomfort, we leaned into it?

Self-judgment around movement is real.

It can feel vulnerable, awkward, and, yes, uncomfortable.

But here’s the thing: Movement is how our bodies were designed to process emotion, stress, and pent-up energy. When we move, we activate the nervous system in a way that helps us release what we’ve been holding onto—whether we’re aware of it or not.

💡 Did you know? Movement helps stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for the “rest and digest” response, helping us recover from stress. When we move, we’re not just exercising our muscles—we’re helping our bodies process and release the emotional energy that gets stuck. The more we move, the more we allow our nervous system to recalibrate, heal, and find balance.

But here’s the catch: We have to get out of our own way.

The discomfort is part of the healing process. The awkwardness is normal. The vulnerability is essential. When we stop judging ourselves, when we let go of the “shoulds” and simply move—even if it’s messy—that’s when the body can do what it was designed to do.

So, next time you feel that discomfort, that resistance to moving freely, remember: That’s where the healing begins. It’s your body inviting you to release, reset, and heal—just as it’s meant to.

You don’t have to be perfect. You just have to be present. 💫

Breathwork starts with the body because we are body-centered humans.

All of life is filtered through our body first—before we feel emotions or create stories about our experiences. When something happens, the body reacts instinctively to keep us safe, but when that experience isn’t fully processed, it gets trapped in the body.

Take a dog attack, for example:
1️⃣ Physical Response – The body instinctively dodges or steps back.
2️⃣ Emotional Response – Fear floods in as the body recognizes danger.
3️⃣ Mental Response – A belief is formed: “Dogs aren’t safe.”

Later, when we encounter a dog again, the body might automatically tense up, feel fear, and remember that belief—even if the dog isn’t dangerous. These automatic reactions happen because the nervous system holds onto unprocessed experiences.

This is why breathwork is so powerful. It works with the body first to release trapped emotions, reset our nervous system, and eventually rewrite the stories we’ve told ourselves. Because when we heal the body, we heal the mind—and we create space for new, more empowering beliefs about the world. 🌱✨

Life isn’t about avoiding pain, it’s about feeling your emotions. The hard moments are just as important as the happy ones—they shape us, they teach us, and they lead us to growth.

Make the choice to stop running from your emotions. Let yourself feel them all. It’s all part of the journey and we’re here to support you along the way 🫶🌱

Breathwork doesn’t just heal trauma—it reveals the potential that’s been inside you all along. It creates the space for you to connect to your true self and step forward with intention. 💖

What Are Suppressed Emotions?

Suppressed emotions are feelings we push down because they’re too overwhelming or uncomfortable to face. Over time, they can build up, affecting both our mental and physical well-being.

Here are 3 signs you might have suppressed emotions:

1️⃣ Frequent Mood Swings – If you feel emotionally overwhelmed without a clear cause, it could be your body’s way of signaling unresolved emotions.

2️⃣ Physical Symptoms – Tension, headaches, or fatigue are common signs of emotional energy being stored in your body.

3️⃣ Difficulty Connecting with Your Feelings – Struggling to identify or express how you feel can be a sign that emotions are being blocked.

If you’re ready to finally feel what you’ve been avoiding, breathwork can help you release, heal, and move forward. At Exhale Breathwork, we create a safe space for you to process and heal those emotions—one breath at a time.

At first, you might’ve thought breathwork was just another “fad” or something people talk about at wellness retreats. But the more you practice, the more you realize—it’s a game changer. 🌀

Consistency is key. When you make somatic breathwork a regular part of your routine, you’re not just “breathing for the moment”—you’re rewiring your nervous system, releasing stuck emotions, and shifting your mental patterns for long-term growth. 🌬️

The more you show up for your breath, the more your body learns to release stress, calm anxiety, and regulate your emotions. You start to notice things like clearer thoughts, better sleep, a deeper sense of calm, and a greater capacity to handle life’s challenges without being triggered. ✨

Breathwork isn’t just about getting through a stressful day—it’s about building resilience and emotional balance, one breath at a time. Consistent practice turns breathwork into a mental health tool that’s with you for life. 🧘‍♀️

Ready to make breathwork your go-to for mental health? Your breath is waiting. 💫

Your body, emotions, and thoughts are deeply connected—and the key to breaking free from this cycle starts with the body. 🌿

When we experience stress or trauma, our bodies hold onto that energy in the form of physical blockages—tight muscles, shallow breathing, fatigue, and pain. This physical tension influences our emotions, which in turn fuels the stories playing in our minds.

Somatic breathwork works with the body first to release these blockages. By using breath to activate and clear tension, we can access suppressed emotions and limiting beliefs that are stuck in our nervous system. Once we release what’s physically trapped, we free up space to shift emotional and mental patterns.

A simple way to start working with your body is to practice somatic modalities—like breath, sound, and movement. Start by taking deep, intentional breaths, using sound (like humming or chanting) to vibrate through tension, or moving your body in ways that feel instinctive (even shaking it out!). These practices help you connect with your body, release stored emotions, and begin healing from the inside out.

Let’s clear up some misconceptions that might be keeping you from experiencing the full power of somatic breathwork! 👇

1️⃣“It’s Only About Crying” 😢
Misconception: Breathwork is just about crying, but it’s so much more than that!
Reality: Sure, tears may flow, but emotional release can show up as laughter, yawning, shaking, or even a deep sense of calm. It’s all about moving energy in your body—not just processing sadness. 🌟

2️⃣“You Need to Have Major Trauma to Benefit” 🚫
Misconception: Breathwork is only for people with huge trauma.
Reality: Somatic breathwork is for everyone! Whether you’re dealing with chronic stress, emotional patterns, or simply need to clear out mental clutter, it helps release whatever’s stuck in your body. 💪

3️⃣“You Have to ‘Force’ Your Emotions Out” ❌
Misconception: You need to “force” emotions to come up during breathwork.
Reality: Breathwork is all about allowing—not forcing. Your body knows what it needs to release, and through deep, conscious breathing, you create space for emotions to naturally flow and heal. 🌬️

Ready to break free from these myths and experience true emotional release? Let your breath be the guide. 🌱

#SomaticBreathwork #EmotionalRelease #BreatheToHeal #HealingJourney #FeelToHealIt #TraumaHealing #BreathworkCommunity #MindBodyConnection #LetGoAndGrow #BreatheThroughIt #HealingThroughBreath #IdahoBreathwork #UtahBreathwork #OregonBreathwork #MontanaBreathwork #PNWHealing
When you try to control or suppress your emotions, you’re actually holding them inside—creating pressure in your body that has to go somewhere.

That pressure often shows up as tension, pain, anxiety, or even depression. 😣 Over time, this suppression builds up, making it harder to breathe, relax, and feel truly alive.

But here’s the thing... feeling your emotions fully is where true freedom begins. ✨

When you allow yourself to feel—without judgment, without running away—you give your body permission to process and release what’s been stuck. This not only brings emotional relief but physical healing as well, as the tension and pressure you’ve been holding start to dissolve.

By feeling your emotions fully, you create space for clarity, healing, and a deeper connection to yourself. 💖 It’s a journey that may feel intense at first, but every breath, every tear, and every release brings you closer to the freedom you’ve been seeking.

The key is to stop controlling and start allowing. Your emotions are messengers, not enemies—and when you stop resisting them, your body can finally exhale. 🌬️

Ready to feel it to heal it? 🌱

You can’t heal if your body is stuck in fight or flight. 🚨

The truth is, many people think that relaxation techniques alone can help them break free from stress or trauma—but if you’re stuck in survival mode, no amount of “calming down” is going to turn off your defense mechanisms.

Here’s why: when your nervous system is in fight or flight, it’s literally stuck in defense mode. And guess what? That’s where trapped emotions and past experiences stay stored—deep in your body. So, focusing on relaxation won’t change the fact that your system is still on high alert. 🔥

What you really need is to activate your nervous system even further. I know, it sounds counterintuitive—but by diving deeper into those feelings, you can start to process and release them. 🌬️ As you fully feel and experience those trapped emotions, your body recognizes that it’s no longer in danger, and defense mode can finally switch off.

Once that happens, you’ll have access to deeper states of relaxation and rest, because your body finally knows it’s safe. 💫 This is where deep healing happens - in rest and relaxation mode.

Ready to break free from fight or flight? Your body has the power to heal when you give it the space to process what’s been stuck for so long.

Somatic Breathwork is a direct experience of healing and transformation. Your body is designed to naturally grow through stress. Without this natural stress release, the pressure builds and suppresses your potential in life. Through simple breath techniques, you will engage your natural ability to clear yourself of stress so you can receive more clarity and purpose.

You will be lying down with your eyes closed for the duration of the 60-minute breathwork session. Our team of trauma-informed practitioners will guide you through verbal cues, intentional music, and optional hands-on touch. Somatic breathwork is designed to be uncomfortable - you may feel emotions or sensations that you haven’t felt before and you are encouraged to feel them fully. You may leave your session feeling a deep connection with yourself and your potential in life.

Somatic breathwork is intended as a personal growth experience and should not be looked upon as a substitute for psychotherapy. It is not appropriate for pregnant women, for persons with cardiovascular problems, including angina or heart attack, high blood pressure, glaucoma, retinal detachment, osteoporosis, history of seizures, stroke, major psychiatric conditions, recent surgery, acute infectious illness, or epilepsy. If you have any doubt about whether you should participate, please consult with your physician(s). Persons with asthma should bring their inhaler and consult with their physician(s).

Your body changes slowly - the key to your practice is consistency. It’s normal to experience resistance to your practice because it can be uncomfortable. We encourage you to listen to your body as your guide for how often to experience a full session but to not let resistance hold you back. Some people come weekly while others come monthly. As you progress in your journey, we encourage you to use somatic breathwork regularly as a preventative tool so that stress doesn’t accumulate in your body.
